Paul, after a brilliant past fencer, works as a sports reporter for a small newspaper. His friend Franz, dies of a heart attack. He was a former fencing champion, like him, and had become an entrepreneur, like many in the rich northern province. Paul realizes that the life of his missing friend was not as clear as he thought. Even his death seems to hide a secret.
